An all-volunteer organization, the Longboat Key Democratic Club offers opportunities to make change at the grassroots level, learn, and enjoy fellowship with like-minded people. We work to introduce candidates, educate citizens about the key issues, and get Democrats elected at all levels of government.

As a member of the LBKDC, you –

 

• Bolster the efforts of Democrats in Sarasota and Manatee counties, as well as statewide, in our fight for women’s, LGBTQ+ and all human rights, an economy that works for everyone, racial and environmental justice, and access to voting, health care, and quality education.
   

• Contribute much-needed financial support to grassroots groups. We’ve helped to fund Latino radio outreach and bilingual mailings, voter registration in Sarasota’s Black community of Newtown, the Manatee Environmental Caucus, and much more.
   

• And enjoy solidarity with like-minded people at a time in history when we all need to draw strength from each other. Especially popular are our monthly speaker events, in person and via Zoom, which bring us together for stimulation and affirmation.

It takes commitment, time, and funds to promote the values we share – and fight off extremist efforts to undermine them. Now our attention must be laser-focused on upcoming elections at all levels of government.
