​The LBK Democratic Club is getting ready for the 2026 and 2028 elections with elevated urgency.

 

We are living through an unprecedented national crisis on nearly every front. The rule of law is under attack. The freedom of the press is being undermined. Disinformation spreads faster than facts. And those who seek power at any cost are working to dismantle the checks and balances that protect our Constitution. 

 

But we are not powerless.

 

The Longboat Key Democratic Club is a community of “Members and Friends in Action”, an activist force dedicated to protecting democracy and electing Democrats at the local, state, and national levels. Our mission is to inform, engage, and mobilize citizens around the values that define us: fairness, inclusion, respect, accountability, and truth.

 

Whether you have just a few hours or want to take a leading role, if you care deeply about even one fundamental issue—climate, education, reproductive rights, gun safety, voting access, the economy, healthcare, or the courts—and want to become an expert or advocate, we’ll help you plug into our team and make a difference.

 

As a volunteer, you’ll help us:

 

• Engage key voters—including NPAs, discouraged Democrats, moderate Republicans, and first-time voters

• Push back against authoritarianism and disinformation—by defending the rule of law, the First Amendment, and the institutions that hold power to account

• Support Democratic candidates—especially in districts where we can flip seats and protect progress

• Forge smart partnerships—with local Democratic groups and non-partisan organizations with shared goals and interests to broaden our reach and impact

• Educate the community—through compelling events, respected speakers, and issue-based outreach that turns knowledge into action

 

We host powerful public forums and an acclaimed speaker series that brings top thinkers and policymakers to Southwest Florida. But our greatest strength lies in people like you.
