We Are Seeking Volunteers For These Roles

Program Producer

We are looking for a person who follows newsmakers, politicians and analysts who would be suitable speakers for the Longboat Key Democratic Club audience.

Responsibilities:

  • Research good speaker candidates, local, regional and national

  • Work in partnership with another Program Producer and the Program Committee of the Board

  • Look at speaker candidates on YouTube and other media to ensure they are good speakers

  • Research major publishers to find current authors that would interest our audience 

  • Contact publishers and other sources to determine availability and willingness of speakers

  • Contact institutions playing important roles in civic dialogue to find  suitable speakers ie. Brennan Center for Justice; Brookings Institution etc. 

  • Negotiate with speaker assuming no payment of fee. We can purchase  books in lieu of fee.

  • Provide publicity materials to Marketing and Communications Department

  • Make travel and accommodation arrangements

  • Prior experience booking speakers for radio, TV or other media/channels/venues a major plus

Chief Communications Officer (CCO)

The Chief Communications Officer helps tell the Club's story and keeps members, supporters, and the public informed and engaged. This person leads planning for newsletters, website updates, social media, videos, event promotion, fundraising campaigns, and volunteer recruitment.

Working with writers, designers, video creators, photographers, and channel champions, the CCO ensures that content is clear, timely, consistent, and reaches the right audiences. The role helps coordinate communications across email, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Substack, and the Club website.

The CCO also tracks what is working, recruits and mentors communications volunteers, and helps build a strong team that can support the Club's continued growth and impact.

Creative Lead

The Creative Lead helps turn the Club's ideas, events, and issues into engaging content that people want to watch, read, and share. Central within the Communications team, this person develops graphics, videos, social media content, podcasts, event promotions, and other multimedia materials that support the Club's mission.

As both producer and designer, the Creative Lead looks at speeches, Zoom programs, or events and sees multiple ways to reuse it—from short video clips and quote graphics to newsletter stories and social media posts. The role also coordinates volunteer creators and explores new AI and digital tools to expand the Club's reach and impact.

Digital Content Producer (Video & Audio Team)

The Digital Content Producer transforms Club events, speakers, interviews, and activities into engaging digital content that extends the impact of every program. This volunteer records, edits, and repurposes video and audio for YouTube, social media, podcasts, newsletters, and the Club website.

Working closely with the Creative Lead and Communications team, the producer identifies key moments and creates short clips, highlight reels, podcast episodes, and promotional content. Using video editing, audio production, and AI-assisted tools, the role helps build a growing content library that increases audience reach, engagement, and organizational influence long after each event concludes.

Digital Platforms Coordinator

The Digital Platforms Coordinator maintains the Club’s digital presence and ensures supporters can easily access information, register for events, volunteer, and donate. This volunteer manages the website, publishes approved content, maintains event and membership pages, and oversees digital resources, including videos, recordings, articles, and graphics.

Working closely with the Communications team, the coordinator uploads content, organizes archives, monitors links and forms, and helps ensure a professional and user-friendly experience. Serving as website manager, digital librarian, and quality-control specialist, this role preserves institutional knowledge while supporting outreach, engagement, fundraising, and the Club’s long-term growth.

Director of Operations, CRM & Analytics

The Director of Operations, CRM & Analytics manages Neon One as the Club’s central operating system, overseeing membership, events, donations, sponsorships, volunteer records, and reporting. This person ensures data is accurate, organized, and accessible while providing leaders with the information needed to make effective decisions.

Working closely with board members and volunteers, the director develops processes, creates reports and dashboards, supports fundraising and outreach efforts, and provides user training. Combining operational management, data analysis, and problem-solving skills, this role transforms information into actionable insights that strengthen performance, improve engagement, and support the Club’s continued growth.
